Becoming More: Why I Decided To Take The Udacity Digital Marketing Nanodegree Program

After retiring from my undergraduate studies at the University, I began to imagine how life after school would look like for a young man like me who is just one of the many students that got a degree with the hope of securing a high paying job in a competitive market.

You will agree with me that getting a role nowadays means that one has to be outstanding (multi-skilled and digitally skilled too!). A part of me wants to be an entrepreneur, a digital freelancer to be precise. But, time management and lack of clarity on how to get started has been an obstacle to achieving both my career and entrepreneurial goals.

“At age 25 I probably should have had a good job plus building a solid career right!”. The state of things in the country is not encouraging, especially, the recent lockdown due to covid-19 pandemic, which made many onsite jobs irrelevant and remote work the new trend. Of course! I had to seek ways to equip myself with a skill that will prepare me for onsite, hybrid or remote roles and matches my tourist lifestyle while keeping up with social media trends.

How do I get started? This was my big question.

Sometimes in December 2021, I stumbled on a social media post from Edojobs offering training opportunities for interested applicants in data analytics, web development and digital marketing in collaboration with Udacity.

I was not sure whether to sign up for the training or forget about it because it was going to be an online session even though I wanted to upgrade my little knowledge on digital marketing. After some days of hesitation, I decided to take the program. Trust me it was a good decision right there.

• Materials, projects and tools for practice are at your disposal once you are signed up.

This is just a glimpse of my journey so far with Udacity Digital Marketing Nanodegree program and I am getting fired up for excellent in a digital marketing role.
